In my experience, Ireland has some of the most wonderful wedding venues I’ve ever seen. Around every corner there seems to be many-hundred year old manor house, waiting to be explored. So, with this in mind, I’m really happy to share this Durhamstown Castle wedding with you today.
A wonderful Durhamstown Castle wedding
In Australia, where I’m from, we have absolutely no venue like this. So when Miriam and Conor originally sent me an enquiry, I read that they were getting married at a castle and my heart did a little leap. I quickly googled the venue and was pretty stoked with what I saw.
Durhamstown Castle is an incredible old venue. It’s a deliciously old castle set amongst wonderfully peaceful grounds. You can feel the history of the place while walking around it. I was in awe of the different location for photos, and the rooms inside the house and full of natural light from the large windows.
Conor + Miriam
These two legends are both doctors in Dublin. It was amazing to spend the day with them at their Durhamstown Castle wedding. We spent the morning on site getting ready, then proceeded to a local church for the ceremony. We ended up back at the venue for photos, and then to feast in the castle’s beautiful reception space.
Spending the day with these two at their Durhamstown Castle wedding was like hanging out with old friends. They fed me well and took care of me. I had two pieces of their wedding cake (no regrets). The staff and owners at the venue were wonderfully accommodating. I’d just love to go back and shoot here again.
Are you planning a Durhamstown Castle wedding?
I’m based in the UK, in Devon. From there it’s a short trip over to Ireland, and I’d love to shoot more weddings in this part of the world. If you’re planning a Durhamstown Castle wedding, or a wedding anywhere in Ireland, and you’re looking for a photographer, I’d love to have a chat with you. You can have a look at a Gloster House wedding; alternatively you can head over to my contact form to get in touch.
